While you’re still trying to erase the memory of last night’s decidedly dour meat and three veg, don’t despair – because today is the third instalment of Ashburton’s Multi Cultural Bite Festival.
Twenty-one delectable delicacies from the various cultures residing in Mid Canterbury will be on offer along with live performances and refreshments. Not only will food from Bolivia to Nigeria be represented, New Zealand’s Race Relations Commissioner Joris De Vries will be in attendance. This year a token system will be introduced to free up stallholders’ time, so they can concentrate on sharing their food with everyone rather than getting bogged down with handing over change to punters. Running from 11am to 3pm in Baring Square East not only can you feed the kids, the site includes a kids’ entertainment area and first aid facilities And don’t forget the Aotearoa stand, it’s right next to New Caledonia’s.
