Students' work on display

November 10, 2011

They’ve been slaving away all year and this weekend, the hard work will pay off for Aoraki Polytechnic art students when their exhibition opens at the Ashburton Art Gallery.

Kaleidoscope: A Visual Breakthrough is a showcase of work by the students from traditional drawing, painting and printmaking to contemporary illustration and mixed media and showcases a mix of materials, techniques and concepts.
The works are from Diploma in Painting and the Diploma in Arts and Media courses, as well as a selection from the introductory art studies students.
The students themselves are also a kaleidoscopic mix of ages, backgrounds and interests but all are looking forward to celebrating their achievements.
As well as the chance to exhibit, students have also had the opportunity to take part in the installation of the show.
The exhibition will open on Saturday at 1.30pm at the Ashburton Art Gallery and will run until November 26.
