The eleventh Frostbusters multisport race took place on Sunday in Ashburton.
The three-stage multi-sport event began with a 8.5km run, starting and finishing at the corner of McLennans Bush and Rosehill roads, a 27km cycle down Arundel Rakaia Gorge and Blackwood Roads up to the kayak transition where they started a 16km kayak from the north side of the Rakaia Gorge Bridge. The duathlon required a 25km cycle and a 2km kayak. Sia Svendson from Christchurch won the marquee event, the open female category, with a time of 3:09:56. Christchurch man JJ Wilson was victorious in the open male event with a time of 2:45:19.
