July 29 2009 Having healthy choices was the theme of the morning at Allenton Kindergarten when they shared a healthy breakfast on Monday.
Healthy options were the topic of last term, where they looked at a range of options. Teacher Jacqueline ten Hove said the breakfast was a way to celebrate to conclusion of the unit. “We went through a list of healthy breakfast options they could have and also all turned up in our pyjamas. We had things like rice bubbles, yoghurt, toast, milk, fruit salad and weetbix and the children really enjoyed it. “It just coincided with what we’ve been talking about like how having breakfast starts off their day and helps them get through kindy sort of thing. We had 39 children and some parents for the breakfast and we’re making a book so they can come back and look at it,” she said.
